Joan Scott of Nanoose Bay, B.C. formally from Belloy, Alberta, sadly and unexpectedly slipped away in the Nanaimo Hospital on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 84 years of age. She was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, grew up on the family farm in Wanham and moved to Belloy after marriage to Allan Scott.
Joan lived for her family; her kids, grandkids and only one great granddaughter were sure to come up in most conversations.
She had many hobbies and interests over the years, including gardening (flowers especially), reading, current affairs, curling, painting, baking and travel.
She received her BA from the University of Alberta and spent the majority of her teaching career in Wanham. Joan will be terribly missed by her one love, Allan, who she was rarely seen apart from.
Also, left to mourn are her children Donna Kasprow, Debi (Lorne) Pretty; Grandchildren: Dylan and Jesse Kasprow, Aaron, Rhys, Shanae and Kohen Pretty; Brother Denny (Allison) Sather, Michael Sather (Annette Lebox) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Joan was pre-deceased by her parents Edwin and Grace Sather; sisters Phyllis (Henry) Hessler, Honey (Greg) Lamothe, and Barbara Sather; and brothers: David Sather as well as son-in-law Randy Kasprow.
Memorial Service will be held on September 4th in Wanham, Alberta at 2pm at the COCO Hall.
