Active cases in Alberta edged up slightly higher to 1,084, up 11 from the last report, with 72 new cases identified in the past 24 hours. Overall, 5,377 have recovered from COVID-19, or about 82% of the total 6,587 cases.
One continuing care resident has died, bringing the provincial COVID-19 deaths to 126. Ninety-two of the 126 fatal COVID-19 victims were residents of continuing care facilities, which combined for a total of 683 cases, of which 586, or about 86%, have recovered, leaving 97 active cases.
Average age of fatal victims in Alberta is 82, according to Alberta Health data.
Sixty people are in hospital, down two from the last report, and eight are in intensive care units.
